Close to 20 different colors spread across both garages, every bedroom, a media bonus room above the garage, and two full sets of kitchen cabinets. What This Job Actually Involved

Then layer in close to 20 different colors — some rooms done in a full dark color drench, others with partial accent walls that required a laser level to get the lines straight. That's not a simple cut-in job. Every stripe and partial wall had to be measured, leveled, and taped precisely or the whole design falls apart. On top of the color complexity, one garage wall had all-new sheetrock on it. That meant we had to mud, tape, and float that wall before any primer or paint touched it. The media room also needed seam repair throughout before we could lay down those dark tones. The colors came from a designer. Our job was to take that list and turn it into a working document the painters could follow room by room without guessing. We used SW Gallery specifically for the cabinets because it's built for that kind of finish and holds up to daily use. The rest of the trim and doors throughout the house got SW Emerald Urethane. Walls were painted with PPG Hi-Hide. Each product picked for where it was going.
The Media Room and Garage Walls
The media room was done in very dark colors — a full ranch-style color drench. Before any of that paint went on, we repaired the seams throughout the room. Painting dark colors over unrepaired seams is a mistake you can't hide, so we handled it properly first. The garage wall with new sheetrock got the full treatment: mud, tape, float, prime, then paint. That's the right sequence. Skip any of those steps and the finished wall will show it. We didn't skip any of them.
The Finished Result
Nine days. Close to 20 colors. Two garages, all the bedrooms, a media room, two cabinet sets, drywall repair, seam work, partial accent walls with laser-leveled lines.
